“Suggestive Gestures” (working title) is a feature length video I am in the midst of creating. Because it may take me up to 3 years to complete, I will periodically post here short excerpts showing the work as it progresses, so that people who are interested in following the work can have a sense of where it is going. (These excerpts will all undoubtedly be different in their final form.)

Like my previous videos, “Suggestive Gestures” is based on a completely improvised dialog, in this case by Cassie Tunick and myself. I’m using language in a different way here, however. I am exploring the use of language to create a “landscape,” rather than a story or a series of connected ideas. The rhythm and sound of the voices inspires the music and the images. In this case, I imagine the landscape as a labyrinth, with the two actors slowly moving along the path, towards the center.
